Workshops / Reflection Groups
WHAT ARE THEY?They are shared spaces for reflection, neither limited to a theoretical comprehension nor to intellectual elaboration exclusively. They are spaces where experiences, comments and reflection interchanges allow people to rescue the deepest personal aspects from their experience of “being a woman” or “being a man” in our present society. They are reliable spaces where gender stereotypes are possible to be revised and people can open to new behaviours to favour a better quality of life in daily interchange between women and men. They are spaces to discover the “obvious” in the concrete and daily issues. WHAT ARE THEY USEFUL FOR?To favour awareness on the gender condition and to revise stereotypes that confines and limits both women and men. WHAT ARE THE SUBJECTS DEALING WITH?The following are some of the subjects discussed by the groups: WHERE DO THEY TAKE PLACE?The Reflection Workshops are held in Buenos Aires and in other cities and different countries as well. HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE?People who are participating in Reflection Workshops coordinated by me in Buenos Aires, gather together once a month for three hours. Those Reflection Workshops held out of Buenos Aires have to count, at least, on three subsequent meetings, three ours each. A Workshop can be carried out satisfactorily in one day and a half. If here is more time available, workshops can be extended. HOW MANY PEOPLE PARTICIPATE?The minimum number of people needed for a dynamic work ranges between eight At International Encounters World Congresses, Clara Coria has coordinate workshops for a hundred people, which allows an approach to the subject but limits a profound treatment on the matters. WHAT KIND OF METHODOLOGY?The methodology applied includes group reflection along with exercises that help to get deeply into the less conscientious aspects of the matters dealt with. CAN THEY BE ORGANIZED UNDER REQUEST?Certainly, they can be organized under request, provided the request is made in advance, so as to fix dates conveniently, to define the subjects and to establish duration.
